Jet fuel prices have risen. Fuel prices have reached record highs in major cities across the country. Due to the ongoing war in West Asia, the Indian government has increased the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for non-scheduled and charter flights by more than 115%.
Initially, it was unclear on IndianOil's website whether these increased prices would apply to domestic airlines.
Later, the airlines stated that the new prices were only applicable to non-scheduled and charter flights. Prices for scheduled flights had not yet been finalized. IndianOil then clarified that the new prices would not apply to domestic scheduled flights.
Prices increased in big cities
In Delhi, the price of ATF for non-scheduled and charter flights has increased to ₹207,341.22 per kilolitre from ₹96,638 last month, effective April 1. In Kolkata, the price has risen to ₹205,955.33, up from ₹99,587.14 in March.
In Chennai, the price has risen to ₹214,597.66, up from ₹100,280.49 previously. In Mumbai, the price has risen to ₹194,968.67, up from ₹90,451.87 last month. This is one of the lowest prices among major cities.
