IndiGo has appointed former Air India MD Alok Singh as its Chief Strategy Officer
IndiGo's new Chief Strategy Officer, Alok Singh, has over 30 years of aviation experience. He has worked in strategy, operations, planning, and commercial areas. He previously served as MD and CEO of Air India Express.
IndiGo, the country's largest airline, on Monday announced the appointment of Alok Singh, former Managing Director of Air India Express, as its Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). This appointment comes less than two weeks after the sudden resignation of IndiGo's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pieter Elbers.
IndiGo said Alok Singh will develop the company's long-term strategy. He will work to accelerate growth, improve operations, and strengthen competitiveness.
His focus will be on improving customer experience and enhancing company efficiency. He will report to Managing Director Rahul Bhatia until a new CEO is appointed.
More than 30 years of experience
Alok Singh has over 30 years of aviation experience. He has worked in strategy, operations, planning, and commercial areas.
He previously served as MD and CEO of Air India Express, where he played a key role in the airline's rapid growth and transformation. Prior to this, he also held senior positions at Air India and Oman Air.
His new role aims to strengthen IndiGo's global expansion plans, make the company more agile, robust and future-ready, and expand into new markets and further streamline operations.
Excellent operational capability
Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director of the company, said that Alok Singh possesses a strong strategic vision and operational capabilities. He added that his comprehensive
understanding of aviation systems will be extremely beneficial as we rapidly build a stronger, more capable, and future-ready organization. For now, Alok Singh will report directly to me. He will also report to the new CEO as soon as he assumes office.
